New Member Registered	...and I'm seeking information from those "in the know" as it were. I'd like to know where to find.. -a really good karaoke bar -a really good, and semi-inexpensive gym -the parts of town to avoid -the best and most active temp agency -the best mall in Hamilton -a 24h cybercafe -a great place to buy used computers -a good down-and-out "welfare" kind of bar, if that makes sense. I don't like preppy joints at all ...and that's just to start. Thank you in advance!

New Member Registered	Karaoke = Back Street (but I think they changed the name of the bar. It's popular.) or Doc's Tap & Grill but it's small. Gym = I go to Family Fitness but it's cheap only if you get the promotional deals. You can try the YMCA and tell them you make minimum wage. They might give you a discount based on your income. Parts to avoid = Just stay in the light or on the main streets. Actually I haven't had a problem... yet. Just don't get too "loaded" until you get to know the city. Temp agency = Try Adecco if you don't mind labour type employment. Mall = Lime Ridge Mall CyberCafe = Don't know Used Computers = Lots of little computer places. Don't know. Check the paper maybe. I went to this one place at Lottridge and Barton next to McDonalds where I bought a keyboard for a buck. I don't know if that helps. Hole in the ground bar = Many along King Street but I wouldn't say any were good. Many along Barton Street as well. I think the ones on Barton are a little more populated though. Venture out! I came here 3 years ago but I've been tied down most of this time. I'm free now so I'm just getting to know everything as well. I know many people who grew up in this city so I'll ask around.

New Member Registered	If it's of any use to you, Alcove Insurance a really good insurance brokerage that specializes in new residents and people moving to the Hamilton area... they even have an online quote request feature on their website - which, from my experience, has made getting insurance very easy, considering my driving record isn't the greatest.
