I need advice on how to sell my car (4 posts)

New Member Registered	I have been trying to sell my used Acura for about 2 months now, I have tried trader but they charge outrageous amounts, like $100.00 for 2 weeks and after two months I have given up on that. (not to mention every second phone call is a telemarketer asking me to list with them for 100-150 bucks!) I tried putting a for sale sign in the window with no luck and the Acura dealership offered me 16 thousand less than I paid brand new and the car is 1 year old and has 20 thousand Kilometers in it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! I see this site has a classified section, but I need something that gets more exposure, I need to sell fast!

Active Member Registered	I would try the Bargain Finder. If you are a private seller, they will not charge for a ordinary classified ad. and they do have a good readership. They do ask you buy a copy of the publication. Perhaps you should also resign yourself to the idea that autos do depreciate badly in the first year, or even 1st week, although perhaps 16 thousand is a little high. That's why many folk would not buy new cars, even if they could afford them. In defence of the dealer, they are faced with a complete inspection and most will warranty it to the new buyer. I think that the Calgary Herald have reasonable rates for auto classified from time to time. Both the Bargain Finder and the Herald are on-line as well as in print. Good luck.

New Member Registered	First I would put an ad in the Calgary Herald.They get the highest readership.Run the ad for a week and they give you a bit of a break on the price(I think,be sure to ask them!).Then I would try listing it on eBay Motors.They get alot of attention on that site and you can check recent sales of your car model to get an idea of how much you could sell it for,before you decide to list it on there. New Member Registered	Thanks for the advice! I have since listed in AutoTrader.ca and on AlbertaSuperSeller.com, hopefully I sell it soon! I have been doing some research and found some helpful sites like www.theusedcarguru.com and a few others for anyone else who is selling a used car.
