Hello everyone! I am hoping to meet some people (M/F) that have similar interests, and are betweem the ages of 18 & 26

I just moved to Calgay from Red Deer before Christmas. Usually I have no problem meeting tons of wonderful people, but this time between work, and finding a nice place to live, there has been no time or money to do aything adventuous!!!

I love animals of any type, and I have dogs (they live @ mom's!), a horse and a cat. Thankfully, my little demon cat Lukie is moving down here in Feb. and his company will be greatly apppreciated!

I like most kinds of music and movies.
Generally, I an happy to do most anything!

I have just rented a nice 3 bedroom house in Highland(NW), in hopes that roommates could become friends, but... not too many people seem to be looking for places right now!

Mostly, I am looking for friends (& potential roommates!!) to spend some time with and get to know.

I don't want to take up too much more room here, but if any one isinterested, please e-mail or call my cell!!

I've been here for almost 23 years (I think) and it's a great city. Good luck in your search!

Hi, I actually moved here about a year ago and have somewhat of the same problem. Between work, life and my dog it is hard to find decent friends. What type of things do you like to do on the weekends?? Maybe we could go out sometime.

I moved here a year ago as well... I moved from BC, it is hard making friends with people whom you are actually interested in. I am a single mom and a full time student, so all my time and effort either goes towards schoolwork or my girl.

I have lived in Calgary for years, and I find it is difficult to make friends, not acquaintences but actual friends. Men seem to be busy with work, kids etc., and have little time to just hang out for coffee, conversation.

There is also the couple's trap. If the wives hit it off, they want to do things as couples. I say, let them enjoy their friendships, and I'll find some of my own (possibly the husbands, maybe not).

I sometinmes think it is easier for young, single people to find friends.

Yes, single people do probably make friends easier because they are more "on the prowl".

I moved to Calgary about a year and a half ago and have yet to make a "real" female friend. I have OFTEN wished that they had those "Match-Maker" type websites for "best-friends" instead of just "dating". All you find on them is people wanting "favors".

As far as social activity....I meet a lot of people, I just haven't clicked with anyone....unfortunately.

I agree, just do a search "find friends in Calgary" All you'll get is dating and penpal sites.

The concept of friendship is pretty rare, esp with all the paid internet sites for dating etc.

I have had some great experiences with some online parenting groups (msn groups) here in Calgary with other moms; however, I have wanted to put together my own group, and you are welcome to join....

I noticed there are a number of posts in reference to people looking to meet new friends here in Calgary.

I am the Founder/President of Friends for Friends™, a non-profit community-based organization for women 18 years plus, who reside in Calgary and the surrounding areas. The purpose of the club is to bring together those women who have trouble making new friends, regardless of whether they are new to the city or long-time residents.

We are not an adult, or dating service. What we are is a friendship club for women of all age groups, working together to form a community of friendship, companionship and mutual support. All women over the age of 18 are welcome.

If you would like more information, please visit our website at the link provided below, or email me at info@friendsforfriends.cjb.net .

I look forward to hearing from you.

Well, I didn't just move here, but since I graduated from University I've found it hard to find good friends. I don't have a vehicle yet either =/
