posted in do the C$ entries appear with rest of classifieds?
26 October 2006 2:52 AM
Hi Cody - the Calgary Dollars entries are separate, and include a specialized header and footer that clearly identify the listing as appearing from the Calgary Dollars, gives information about Calgary Dollars, and supports people visiting to click through and visit (hopefully join) what I think is one of the most influential and leading community building and supportive organizations that exists. All Calgary Dollars listings show up through the search engine as well.

Please fell free to post your listing again on the site with different information or product descriptions. It's not required to list the Calgary Dollars acceptance in the the regular listings, as well, you can type as much as you wish in the regular listings, and add many more details.

That's easy - the classifieds check what you post and prevent spam. Your posts included spam, so they we not added. Same with the post I just removed which was commercial advertising in the forums.

PeopleField has long had a page on Scam Prevention http://www.peoplefield.org/content/about.cfm/cc.30, including the most common scams. We will be updating this with more feedback from our users.

Please, PeopleField is designed to avoid scammers because we try to help you sell and buy locally. Your biggest opportunity to be scammed is from people that you only deal with in email, mail and phone.

Always remember, scammers have two main ways to get your money:
(1) they have an offer that takes advantage of your greed
(2) they have an offer that plays on "unusual circumstance" - a familiy member died, or they personally can not perform some action because of a sad situation.

If those two points raise warning bells, be careful.

Again, always check out our scam prevention page

We continue to improve and expand on bringing additional free opportunities to market to, and reach more, local people online!

We've launched PeopleField's Community Directory:
If you have a business, club or organization you can add them to our local community direcotry.

As with other PeopleField services - it's Free, it's active, and it's recent.

Just like how we get rid on classifieds every 21 days to keep this site fresh (we may not be large, but the ads are fresh), Community Directory listings are renewed every 90 days!

Your feedback, bugs that you find, and hopefully a few Kudos, are always appreciated.

Yup. Just released a new version of PeopleField! Actually, it's the first stage of 4-launch rebuild of the site that we want to get out over the next 6 weeks!

This stage: look, feel, cleaned up a lot of code, added Featured Classifieds, huge upgrade to the forums.

Soon: more new features!

Your comments and feedback appreciated! Also, if you trip over any bugs please respond!

Layers, layers, and more layers. That's the key - each layer trapps a bit more. That and make sure you have good warm gloves that are flexible enough to do your work if outside.

It gets cold. It gets really cold, but it's all survivable and ok once you adjust.

posted in Get Out and Vote - Give your political party $1.75
31 May 2004 1:28 PM
Our federal election is June 28th, and you should be part of it! There's a reason why political parties largely fail to address issues that youth care about - our low voter turn out.

There's one big way we can change that - by being a part of our political system, whether it's through something as easy as voting, or through getting involved in other ways, like volunteering for a local candidate (great if you're under 18!).

Not only that, because of recent campaign finance legislation, your vote gives $1.75 to the party you vote for.

So get informed, and no matter what the party - get out there and vote!

(thanks to TigerLily for the phrasing of the post)

I didn't even know such books existed! Children's poetry into latin!

I don't know if any books exist, but I'm sure from that latin text you could use some of it to search on Google or AllTheWeb to find more examples!

Hi Songjoy!
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking but I'll take a try:

(1) the "recent classifieds" listing is just that - a list of the most recent classifieds placed in the PeopleField.org site! It's a good way to visit in once and a while to see what's changed

(2) The "recent classifieds" only lists one per person, so someone who's posted several items - you may not see everything!

We've found (through emails sent to us) that the search system here on PeopleField.org actually does work quite well! And people have found what their looking for with it! Also, you can click the "classifieds" "jobs" or "housing" links at the top of each page to find material, or utilize the drop-down box on the front page.

The "recent classifieds" is just the quick start. Most of our feedback has been regarding products that have moved on from that list! So don't worry! The search system and navigation system works well!

posted in My Enmax Bill
31 October 2002 4:38 PM
Ok - here's what I don't quite understand:

My Enmax bill is $47.89 (excluding GST)

Of which:
20.05 is for the Energy

27.84 is for:
billing and administration
system access charge
distribution access charge
2000 cost recovery rider
municipal consent and access fee

Arrrgh!
Only 42% of the bill is actual energy. So, bundled, my energy costs - not as indicated on my bill as $.061/kWh, but when figured out is really $.1457/kWh!

Hruumph.

Hi akgdk!
Your post in the classifieds is working great. I've cleaned up the others posts (you only need to post once).

From the post with the map, it looks like you've got a lot of the HTML "like" code down, including displaying a picture correctly!

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to post them here!

Welcome to PeopleField.org!
