thats funny....not used to a city that doesn't smell like smog.I know the difference between eye burning lung hurting smell of smog and the smell of garbage. And to be exact I wasn't near the city dump either. There was no wind blowing that day. I am not saying that winnipeg is a bad place. To me its no different then any other city. Noisey, crowded, etc........ Alls i said was it smelt like garbage and that if i had spent more that a couple of days there i probably would have got used to the rotten smell and didn't notice it any more.

quoting: prettygirl06 Hey i am pregnant(i think) but i attend school so i guess that is boring enough right there but can anyone tell me how they felt when they first found out they were pregnant like symptoms wise because i need to know if i have any of the symptoms for sure before i go and tell people ive read books but i need to hear from some people that have been through it already
Umm go to the doctor..lots of symptoms of pregnancy are also symptoms of other things too.....and you can trick you body into thinking it's prego when its not too........that would be an idea befor you start telling people you are prego.
I have 2 kids and thats the best advice i can give

posted in Parent support with a runaway teen 15 April 2005 8:36 AM
Hi, It's truly sad when a teen runs away.........I was one......I started running away at 13. Now I don't know what your circumstances are but here are some of the reasons I did.....I was lacking proper attention and guidence from my dad and STEPMOM (whom i still hate to this day). Being a teen is not exactually the easiest time of a persons life. I mean you may look at your teen and think everything is all right and really in the teen's eyes everything is a mess. You all know this because you were there once. I really hope you find help for your Teen and not all runaways turn to crime......I didn't......still to this day haven't been in trouble with the law for anything. As for social services stay away from them .....yes the law requires you to protect your child and what not but once social services is involved they will manage to twist it to look like you are at fault for your childs behaviour. Teen's are a walking ball of hormones and I found that just haveing someone to talk to "be my friend" made a really big difference. When my mom decided to be my friend as well as my mom things changed alot. Not only did she give me the guidence and the attention I needed she also was one of my best friends someone who I could tell everything too. And not feel awakward about. You are looking for help....once again I don't know your circumstances but when I was forced to go to counselling I pushed my self farther away from my family. What worked for me was "hanging out" with my mom, going for coffee etc....... I really hope you connect with you Teen, It's a tough transition for some. All the best and good luck
P.S I have 2 kids of my own

posted in milk - does it do a body good?? 04 November 2004 2:22 PM
Milk.......Well as a home grown farm girl, who was raised on an ORGANIC dairy farm, yeh thats right organic....no growth hormones, no chemical crap given to our cows..........Have you ever drank FRESH milk.......not fresh as in best befor date on the jug but I mean fresh straight from the cow to the holding tank and to your fridge........I grew up on FRESH milk and now as an adult and my father no longer milks cows for a living......I DON"T DRINK MILK......honestly the milk in the carton Tastes like a carton full of chemicals........There is absoulty no comparison to FRESH milk........So If you ever get the opptunity to drink Milk that has come straight from the cow and not from the processing plant.......Do it you'll never drink from the carton again.
P.S It may be more fattening but It's way healthier

Hi there, In a similar situation with an EX with generous access to my son....because your kids are older they maybe able to have a say in the court order a little more. You will have to return to court to have the order varied and If i remember correctly at the age of 12 the child is allowed to decide what he/she whats weather its more flexably visits or what ever but......Untill you have the order varied you must comply with what it says or yes he can call the police on you. Good Luck

NO OFFENCE TO WINNIPEGERS
It is a nice city once you get used to the weather and the smell
I traveled to winnipeg 2 years ago from Alberta, and at home we were running around in sweaters and when we got to winnipeg is was freezing cold we had to dig out the winter gear.......and maybe its cause i don't live there but i traveled with someone who used to live there.....I was warned befor hand that it smelt bad there and sure enough...It smelt better in my car that we just traveled in for 16 hrs than it did outside.......And yes it was freakin COLD..I was happy to get home and hang the winter parka back up in the closet and breath air that was fresh

Hey just checked out your post...I went through a sloppy coustody battle and don't take what i say as right but from what i understand from my court battle this is what i will say to you
As long as you are the childrens primary caregiver (court ordered) and he only has visitation thats just what it is.I do know Canadian law says that if you are the coustodial parent and the other parent doesn't return the child they can be charged with kidnapping.(kidnapping your own kid...ha). In actuallity I do believe you have to give permission for you children to return to the US for visitation something to do with customs.I think the letter he wrote might not have any standing. Unless its was required by customs to let the child return to Canada. But I am not sure about the cross border issue though it may be totally different then what happens just in Canada. I guess the best suggestion is to call a Lawyer and get some free advise. They can tell you better that what I can. You can also try legel aid....yes they suck but it is cheaper than a "REAL" lawyer. I wish you luck...post again and share you information i will be interesting to know how this works out for you

Hey all, just catching up haven't been around since the first few pages...lol....Man this is all so crazy. Ive been through it all minus the Divorce luckly i wasn't married...To all of those out there look at your precious kids and just think of them and the right decision will come to you. As for MEP they can suck my A**.....MEP is a waste of tax payers money considering they don't do squat for those kids who are with out....parents who are really lacking in the support department. Any ways good luck too all of you its a long tough road... all the custody and maintence stuff...I've been there....I am plain and simply going to Enjoy my kids.

Hey Divorce person..........walk a mile in my shoes and you'll see how well "SHAREDPARENTING" really works........You so called mediator....you have no clue about what some of us go through and You know college degrees and books don't teach you what really happens....they teach you the easiest way to sweep it under the carpets so that the courts are not full. Now a days no one has time to take in all the facts, get it over with is the way is all goes today. I went to court sat in frount of a judge .......went to court again 2 weeks later sat in frount of the same judge and he didn't have a clue i was there 2 weeks ago he didn't remember what was said....Now this is our nice court system....AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.....it used to say...now it says .....I AM BUSY, I DON"T CARE.........NEXT CASE PLEASE

Well....i am glad to see that some good has come out of this mess......its hard and only if the judge seen what u did maybe this caios we call shared parenting would be easier....my sons dad jus took me for more visitaion after he was investigated by CFS for sexual interferiance of a child....no he was granted more visitaion .....where s the childs safty in all of this and when i tryed to have visitaion taken away for safty concerns i was labeled as Vindictive and the father got more visitaion.....Divorce Counsellor now you tell me where the justice is here and it is my responsibility as a parent to keep my child safe....and the law doesn't allow me to when they handed that sick man more visitation of a child
