For all you gals that are "bored as HELL" how about taking a minute to review a new thread called "Out and About, What's Happening? I'm trying to get people to give a review of places or special events they've been to, in or around their communities that might get passed over by little or no exposure. Hi guys, I'm kind of new at this so hang with me. I want to start a new thread about everything that's going on out there in the communities. It seems, nine times out of ten, we find out too late there was something REALLY GREAT going on and it was missed due to under exposure. Sometimes it's even free stuff. If you know of any great places to check out in your local area please add all the information to this posting. Hopefully we can get a travelogue going, and pass on some good information and deals.
To start off, I'm recommending the Riverview Park and Zoo in Peterborough. If your traveling with kids, or just want to go somewhere for the day, this is a great place to stop. It boast a good collection of animals, a splash area, picnic tables, a multitude of play areas for children of all ages, as well as a small train.
My kids never get tired of going there, and the great thing about is it doesn't really cost a thing. They have a small box hanging when you go in, that ask for a donation. Not manditory, but nice. But the train did cost a buck or two the last time we went, but for everything you get to see and for the amount of fun you can have, it's well worth it. It's not a fast paced place, but it has a great charm.
If your looking for Riverview Park and Zoo in Peterborough you'll find it at 1230 Water Street North. I found this web site at www.puc.org/zoo it can give a little better detail about the zoo.
Honestly, I'd recommend for everybody to go, I know you'll have a great time.

I've seen a lot of trouble in the Hamilton Wentworth School system. And basically have been told, that it is impossible to fight them, without them taking it out on your children. Anyone who has a story to tell, Please tell!!! Let them know it can't continue. CAS would take our children away from us, if we treated them the way the schools do.
