posted in Universal Energy Scam: Rates Higher than Local PUC 07 May 2008 8:15 AM Yes...the girl I talked to last night indicated that they received a letter and fax from me stating to cancel my application...I'd just sleep easier at night knowing I had proof of this cancellation....	Ontario Forum
posted in Universal Energy Scam: Rates Higher than Local PUC 06 May 2008 4:06 PM Now I'm a little worried. I called again tonight to reaffirm my cancellation. The girl on the other end of the line informed me that my account was cancelled. I informed her that I had a cancellation number (from the first time I called) as well and she stated that that cancellation number is only the id number of the first guy I talked to. I asked to have written confirmation of my account being cancelled and she said that they don't do that....I'm a little concerned that something fishy is up...but she did state that the account was cancelled and that conversation is recorded...so I hope I'm good. posted in Universal Energy Scam: Rates Higher than Local PUC 29 April 2008 12:47 PM nadjam - You seem to know a lot about this...hope you can help... I too have fallen victim to this scam. The hydro is in my financee's name and I just signed as I thought this was just an application (she was away). To make a long story short...the Ontario Energy Savings rep came to my door last night (around 7-8pm). That night I emailed the company stating I wanted to cancel. This morning I also faxed them the same letter stating my desire to cancel my application. I also called them this morning, and lucky enough, got a cancellation number. My plan tonight is to ship a letter (with cancellation #) reaffirming my desire to cancel. I will be sending this letter via registered mail and courrier. I will state in this letter that I wish writting confirmation of my cancellation. With the letters and fax, I also send them a photocopied version of the application/agreement to ensure they cancel the correct appliction. I'll also resend an email and fax with the cancellation number. nadjam...Do you believe I have covered all areas? You are a success story and I'd also like to be one. I believe I have acted fast and I hope this will save me. I thank you for any possible information anyone could provide.
